Since being elected in May 2014, Breda has gained a reputation in her council work for fairness, for speaking from her heart, for doing what is right, for standing up for the weak and vulnerable, and for honesty and integrity.  She has helped numerous constituents with various issues such as health, housing, school buses, rubbish dumping, water and community projects across Thomastown, Kilkenny City and County.

- Spokesperson in Kilkenny for South East Patients Advocacy Group campaigning for 24 x 7 cardiac care in the region
- Led campaign when X4 Bus Eireann Service was under threat
